Chapter 4 – ICD-10-CM Coding Chapters 1-11

Chapter 5 – ICD-10-CM Coding Chapters 12-21

Week 3:  

Chapter 4 – 5 – ICD-10-CM Coding

Chapter 6 – Introduction to CPT Surgery Guidelines, HCPCS, and Modifiers

Chapter 7 – Integumentary System

Week 4:  

Chapter 8 – Musculoskeletal System

Chapter 9 – Respiratory, Hemic, Lymphatic, Mediastinum, Diaphragm

Week 5:  

Chapter 10 – Cardiovascular System

Review of taking multiple choice CPC exam

Week 6: 

One and one-half hour Mock CPC exam (35 multiple choice questions) 

Review with rationale

Week 7 – 8: 

Chapter 11 – Digestive System

Chapter 12 – Urinary System and Male Genital System

Chapter 13 – Reproductive Systems, Female Genital System and Maternity

Week 9: 

Chapter 14 – Endocrine System and Nervous System

Methods of Evaluation       

The instructional methods used include, practice exercises, audio/video and virtual in-class lectures, chapter review exams, and a final exam. To receive a certificate of completion, students must successfully complete the course within the allotted time frame of 16 weeks/4 months or less with passing score of 70% or higher on all chapter exams, final exam and final course score.
